Hot cut finally happened (on schedule, sort of)

anon : Well, Verizon finally did the hot cut over from Northpoint to Rhythms and it even works. Of course we told them they had to do a hot cut over a month and a half ago because we had no other good pairs running into our office.

Basically, Megapath sent an e-mail saying that Verizon is scheduled to do the switch over on 4/5. We called and said we know we have no other good pairs so they would have to do a hot cut. Well, they missed the 4/5 date and came in on 4/12 instead. At this point the tech looked and said, 'gee, you have no other good pairs!'. Like we didn't know that. Then we were told we would get a hot cut in 8 to 10 days. Well, 12 days passed by and we get an e-mail from Megapath saying, 'gee, you have no other good pairs' and we would have to do a hot cut over within 21 days. Again, like we didn't know that. Last Friday we got an e-mail stating it would be cut over today, a voila, 10 AM and we are up again.

About the only good thing is we got an ADSL line in the meantime as a backup so we were only down about a week overall.
