Codex1 join:1999-12-06 West Grove, PA | Still not up My DSL loop is still on a dead Northpoint circuit, and it's been like this since March. I received the Telocity ADSL gateway early last week, but when I called they couldn't tell me a installation date (they actually had the phone number wrong, they thought my DSL service was on the main phone line). I tried the 3COM SDSL modem that I used with PhoenixDSL and Telocity (when Northpoint was alive) and it still connects - but no internet activity. I also tried the new Telocity ADSL gateway on both my main phone line and the one the DSL was on, but neither can connect. Gotta hate Telocity and their blatant lies. They better not bill me for May. |

 | Neither am I...Apparently PacBell "lost" my circuit and can't find it! They claim to have no record of the circuit that was switched from the NP DSLAM to the Rhythms DSLAM in their computer and I just don't exist. Megapath talks to Rhythms every day and reports back to me....Apparently PacBell and Rhythms had two "vendor meetings" to talk about how to find my line, but PacBell's attitude is: We don't know what's going on with this customer and we may never know, and we may find her line and we may not, and we may do it next week or maybe next month or maybe next year or maybe not at all...but it will be when WE feel like it..that is IF we ever decide to feel like it...
So I filed an informal complaint with the PUC today and asked them to let me know if they will intervene without a formal complaint and if not, I will file a formal complaint (lawsuit) with a motion for injunctive relief (an order requiring PacBell to find and fix my line). I may not ever get DSL again (I'm placing an order for cable if my line is not up by the middle of next week) but I will surely cost them some time, money and bad publicity. Copies of everything is going to Congressman Conyers for him to use if desired as evidence of why the Bells can't be allowed any more rope to hang the consumers... |

Somehow the line is already in use and Pacific Bell will not correct the problem. -- Netopia router with a green light:( :»www.satsujin.org »www.akita-inu.com |

All fixed my old line speed is working 784SDSL and my loop length is about 1,000` shorter than the old NP line -- »www.satsujin.org »www.akita-inu.com |

 | Congratulations! Megapath tells me I will be back up tomorrow, as soon as PacBell finishes "re-jumpering" the Rhythms lines in the Fremont telco..... |

 | Yippeee!!! I'm UP!!! Yippeee!! After two months, I'm now back on SDSL! Three cheers for Megapath for getting me back up despite PacBell's attempts to give me a DSL-incapable line and refusal to hot-swap me, "losing" me in the database and inumerable other obstacles...Thank you to Arnold, Christina, Shawn, and Cody at Megapath.... |

| reply to Codex1 I'm still trying to deal with Telocity installing my DSL on the WRONG line, a line thats completely inaccessible by my computer. Also trying to deal with Earthlink cause they canceled my order after a month and a half for no apparent reason. Will I ever get DSL again? [text was edited by author 2001-05-29 19:22:44] |

You can be up and running in a few days. If a CLEC calls they can't find their rear-end.

Back here ... finally ! I'm ex Megapath/NPNT IDSL ... 33+K from the CO.
I got lit up by Pacbell Pronto on the 8 Apr .. ordered and got a date of the 18th. Canceled the Covad order. Bottom line Pacbell have great technology but clueless staff. There seems to be only one guy in the whole organisation that can move an ATM route ... a 10 minute problem under good ole NPNT. Finally got sorted out yesterday. 1536/160 sure beats 144/144 and half the price! .. The line tester says I'm good for 4000/384 if I go with enhanced!
I just hope nothing breaks ... but at least I know they'll stay in business! |
