With the G3. It is a little blurred since I was holding it. After I get used to the settings and bring the tripod it should do better.

You can read about IR here:»www.cliffshade.com/dpfwi ··· #testing

As noted in the link not all digital cameras may be IR sensitive....

A SIMPLE way to know if your camera has IR sensitivity.... take your IR remote point it at the camera and hold a button... take a pic... if you see a bright dot where the remote emitter diode is... then it is.

Something I have long known of with video cameras (that had IR remotes)... just hadn't thought of it with still cam CCD's for some reason...

Nice shots!
I checked the link you provided and found it very interesting what was said about the Sony F707, so Sony doesn't want us looking through people's clothing?

Congratulations,I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun taking pictures.

Above is one of the few shots I took with a Tiffen #87 before I had to send it back for repair.

Anxiously waiting for the filter to be returned so I can shoot some fall foliage

Not sure about the still cams, but with the vidocams all they really seem to have done is disable AE in Nightshot mode... or more accurately forced wide open. Not being a voyuer (plenty of scantily and nude bodies here if I want to see them ) haven't invested in the filtering to find out....

But likely you heavily ND (neutral density) filter them in daylight, it is probably still possible.

SONY CYBERSHOT
9.7mm 1/20th F2 ISO2500

Interesting thread. I fiddled around with the night-shot feature when I first got my 717, but really haven't done much with it. It's most useful aspect is helping you set up a regular color shot in complete darkness, very helpful. I did mess around a little though. The shot of the ewe is in regular night shot mode, which I then converted to duotone. The landscape I took in full sun, using an 8x and a 4x neutral density filters, with night shot turned on. Those aren't clouds, it's forest fire on the ridge on the horizon....also converted to duotone...going to have to play with this some more.
