how quickly can I expect to be up and running?

Hi, currently using covad for my dsl.
I'm looking into the cable buster plan from WorldCom (1500/784). I've checked out another dsl provider who offers what seems to be the same plan (MCI plan, 1500/784 but doesn’t MCI=WorldCom?) but with a 15-30 day downtime (according to their website and sales staff) from when covad drops my service till when I can be up and running. Will I face similar down time if I transition to the WorldCom 1500/784? I'm hoping the answer is no because 15-30 days of no DSL at all seems ridiculous.

Thanks for any help,

P.S. sorry for any spelling, typo, etc

It looks like its going to take 2-3 weeks for me.. I ordered service on Nov 4th. The telco will have my line ready by the 13th. But they have to connect my line, which takes 2-5 days. And the equipment is expected to arrive on the 21st. Thats assuming that everything goes well..
