Chew on this: You apply for a credit card-data is generated in a bank's computer, you purchase something at Wal-Mart with your credit card-data is generated into Wal-mart's computers on its HARD DRIVES and on your credit statement you get next month. Using the ATM machine, etc...
This is what came to me when I think of data being generated. As mentioned earlier, its not what you have on your PC or what your transfer over your wee-little 56k line. Its a lot bigger than that and takes an incredible amount of work to analyze and put onto paper, like the folks at Berkeley have done. For that I applaud them. Think people!
