"Silly"? I think not

I dont quite understand how this is considered "silly"... I think its a great move, by companies to start using a young fresh technology with so much potential... (Im a VOIP user, and I work in the industry...lol)

I think that's the problem some of us see. After a time some people get sick of technical "flash in the pan's".

Selling something below a price point only serves to drive out the competition who is actually interested in investing in the future of the service, rather than the "dot-com" looking to market something quickly or other short term visions (IPO, sell to another company, buy a corvette for trophey wife # 3)

I didn't necessarily mean "silly" in a completely negative way...

As DSLKnowitall points out, I start to get shivers when I see dozens upon dozens of companies rushing to all provide the same thing, at price points they can't support, offering products that often aren't very good. Usually means some kind of ugly explosion is coming.
