San Fransisco - Any info esp re speeds !!!!

Hi,
I'm looking at getting the Worldcom Cable Buster plan (1500/784). Just curious if any one can tell me about their speeds or info about the San Fransisco UUnet POP.

Any info, etc would be great.
(Even info about how good the other UUnet POP's that worldcom uses).

Thanks

There were problems with speeds on the San Fran POP a few months ago due to the amount of new customers MCI added but since the upgrades to the network (OC48+) we have not had any speed problems to report.

If you can sync at the 1500/768 ADSL pland you should see 1200 to 1300 download (160kb/sec) and 600 to 650 upload (80kb/sec) with about 20 to 30 ms latency to most bay area servers.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
I'm actually the one who asked this question above and I've gotten my dsl so I can say what the speeds are: consistently fast and fast.
I get 150Kb/sec download with some spikes and 80Kb/sec upload. It can be a little bit faster (sometimes 90-95Kb/sec) upload and sometimes faster download 160kb to 170kb.
I haven't really checked out my ping to any game servers.
I'm very very happy with the speeds I am getting and the best part is they are like that 24/7.

It did take at least 30 days with NO DSL due to worlcom and SBC not talking to each other, etc but it is worth it.
