Coriolis3Premium join:2001-03-09 Fredericton, NB | How can I contact Northpoint? Bottom Line: - I need to contact Northpoint to find out if my line was provisioned through them. - My DSL provider, Winfire, also went out of business, so I can't go through them. - My Telco, Verizon, are a bunch of losers that don't know sh*t from shinola.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!
Detail: I've been trying for the past two months to get my line released after Winfire went bankrupt. Verizon have been completely uncooperative in releasing my line, but they don't seem to know who my CLEC was, if any. I've contacted Rhythms and Covad: the former have no record of provisioning my line, and Covad did not do business with Winfire. I'm starting to think that perhaps Northpoint was my CLEC, and since Northpoint lines have not yet been released, that might explain why I'm not released but all my exWinfire buddies (who had Rhythms) are. Is there anyone at Northpoint I can talk to (ie. does anyone answer the phones there, or have they cleared the offices?), and if so, what is the phone number?
I'd appreciate any assistance, no matter how small!! Thanks! |

That shouldn't take too long and you can get DSL on the new line. |

My only contact left in Northpoint - he'll help you out, he's the senior VP of sales and has access to the database (if they still have that). NP execs still have their @northpoint.net e-mail addies active. -- -M Got Moose? Go Pens. irc://irc.dal.net/#dslreports |

1. It is possible that Verizon don't want to help you. But it is NOT possible that they can't find out which DSLAM is you line is connected to.
2. Northpoint mostly used to sell SDSL which uses separate pair, not your voice phone line. As you write like it is voice shared ADSL, I don't think it could be Northpoint anyhow.
3. If you can reach the box where outside wiring is connected to, there must be a label tag with numbers and company name. This information may be very helpful dealing with Verizon.
4. If you need a document which releases your line, Northpoint issued such a letter. It was on NP site and there were a lot of links to it in this forum and NP closing forum. -- Alex
