Well, she spent 30 minutes on the phone trying to do it and finally it was done, or so we thought. Few days later, I decide to make sure it's disconnected, it's not. I can still log onto it. She calls again. "No you don't have an account with us, you have one with compuserve." We never asked to be switched to compuserve. "Well, you need to call them to get it disconnected, but you are on a free trial." Call compuserve and got it shut off. Month later wow, why is there only $3 in the checking account?? There should be about $90. Oh, look at that not only has AOL not been shut off, but we've been billed 3 times in one month!!! Call AOL. Well, we have 2 accounts with them and one that's been double billed. Takes an hour to get it disconnected all the while the tech keeps offering us free stuff and yada yada yada. Tells us about aol for broadband and all that. "No thanks, we don't want your wretched service anymore." He says it's all disconnected. Sure it is, next month same exact story, except this time the account overdrew. Go to the bank, block AOL from taking $$ from the account, shred the debit card and get a new one, and file a complaint with the bank. End result, bank got all the money back and refunded the overdraft fee and AOL is gone forever!!!! |
