Not a solution

Just another way congress can get money, I am sure this idea probably came from your US postal service. Nothing says monopoly like $.37 a letter and continually rising.

No!!

I would rather them just make the law to fine spammers per email.. I heard of this somewhere that they wanted a law to fine spammers and they must give the money to the person(s) that were spammed

I pay 37 cents for the USPS to take a letter from my front door in PA and deliver it to someone else's front door in CA within a few days time. I think that's a hell of a good deal, personally. How much would it cost you to deliver the letter yourself...several hundred dollars, at least?

Took the words right out of my mouth.

If anything businesses, could learn a thing our two about the Postal Service (one of the most efficient) businesses on the planet.

There is one downside to that, E-mail is cheaper than that.. I used to spend about (.37x6-10) stamps a month for bills and other stuff. Now?? I use maybe 3 stamps, and plus I don't even use them for pkgs. After 3 letters they could not find, and 3 pkgs come up missing? Well you don't have to tell me twice

I don't want to be a bad guy by saying that Post Office is still losing money on .37 a letter. Why? Because of the second class, media or also known as junk mail class. Yeap, you are paying more for your letter so some guy could send you more junk cheaper. So, soon you will shell out .41 just so junk would still be coming in. Have a nice day.
