I'm pretty sure there are laws against changing conditions on a purchased product after it has been paid for. I remember something about that from reading through documentation in the SCO vs. IBM case. Though there may be a problem if you agree to the agreement changing, I think the only way ISP's get away with this is that their service is paid for on a monthly basis, so their wording is something like "should you wish to continue to use XYZ service, you must agree to our amended terms and conditions".
