| Everybody knows that Canada is light-years better than the US in terms of broadband access. Why? it's socialized. All you people against all forms of deregulation of non-competitive industry get what you deserve. There's nothing wrong with regulating, even socializing an otherwize monopolistic business. Plus, notice what all the heroic stories of community activism are all about, socializing their cable. They all pay far less in cable rates and have a far better system. Can anybody give me an example of a city, state, or country owned cable system that isn't both cheaper an better than the current monopoly systems? |

I never said we should socialize the nation. Canada isn't a socialized nation. However, people shouldn't be afraid of socializing industries that are clearly anti-competitive and won't ever change, like cable and telco. |

The system here is much better... you never see those anti-competive behaviours that the telcos have down there. I guess the US government will eventually learn that everything isn't just black and white... you have to allow for regulation in some cases. |
