Holiday, FL | This is comical! I worked in the cable industry for 18 years and never paid for cable in my life. I was laid off from one of the large MSO's this April. I decided if they didn't want me, I didn't want them so I installed DirecTV. It's a great service, don't get me wrong, but my bill for 4 TV's with all the pay services is $102.00 per month. Just about the same as it would be with cable. The majority of the costs are in the programming. There's just no way around it. If you want "thousands" of channels, you're going to pay for it one way or the other.
