starstuff : Hi,

I followed your link and found the firmware for my three year old B90-36R516-01 The page says that the upgrade is only for verizon customers but I decided to give it a try, after all if I screw up the modem I can buy a newer one for $100 like the SpeedStream adsl modem.

The upgrade program seems to be working but at the end it reports an upgrade failure. When I re-ran the upgrade program I noticed that the firmware was upgraded. I ran some speed test and found a max increase in download speed of 300 Kbps! see results »/archive?zip=7···t=Search

Do you have any idea why the upgrade reported a failure?

93254336 : If the modem is a model 210015, there's not much to set up, since it is a "bridge" modem (in other words, it does not have built-in PPPoE, router, etc.) Depending on what OS you're running on your computer, you may need a PPPoE client. Windows XP and MacOS X are "PPPoE-ready."

- Dan
--
"What an excellent day for an exorcism..."
