| Aol is just following the monopolistic footsteps quick, how many of you used win 3.1? Win95, winME? Better yet, any version 1.0 of any msft products... How much was 3.1? How much was Win95? Any of them "stable"... Ha, nope, but you still pay and curse afterward, right? Simply, aol is just doing the same. Make crappy products that features something other products' feature and toute its own then raise the price.
What frightens me is that we, the american often complain about choices, freedom, demand for quality. Yet, in computer/information industry, we settle for no quality, kill all competition products. I think my new battlecry will be , use/support open source, linux. |

Anon | Oh well. AOL is always going to have people willing to pay whatever price to use it. If you are someone who cant leave without aol (And only god knows why) then just bring your own access for $9.95 (not subject to price increase). After all if your going to spend the money go Cable/DSL then. |

| reply to The Fly Hmmm, have you ever bought a computer system that came with a msft os installed? If you do, you should also received a manual/certificate with some sort of "authentication"(ie serial number, hologram-sticker). If you have, then you have just paid msft indirectly via your computer dealer. |
