 | Setting up sbcglobal.net SMTP setting for Calypso I am trying to set up my favorite mail agent for use with an SBCGLOBAL Yahoo DSL account. Has anyone successfully accomplished this?
If I set any of the authentication settings I get the following error:
The server does not support any secure password authentication providers
Please help

You may want to try setting up a brand new account where it should default to SPA not being enabled. -- MCSE- Minesweeper Consultant Solitaire Expert |

 | reply to pmlabrier Usually using smtp smtp.sbcglobal.net will solve most problems. It doesn't use authenication like smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
Try it. |

 | I use Calypso also. I use the Ameritech SMTP servers- no authentication necessary. Here they are:
(mailhost.x.ameritech.net) Chicago (x=chi) Detroit (x=det) Cleveland (x=cle) Kalamazoo/Grand Rapids (x=kal) Columbus (x=col) (this server is in Cleveland) Dayton (x=day) (this server is in Cleveland) Indianapolis (x=ind) Milwaukee (x=mil) Lansing (x=lan) |
