Strange Outlook 2000 problemI am running outlook 2K here at work. I keep recieving blank messages, just the subject line and header but no body or attachments. I can't find any references to this problem in Technet so I thought I'd ask here.
Here is what I have done so far: 1. Installed a second mail program Allegro Mail. Recieving messages with no problem.
2. Compacted my outlook .PST 3. Ran Inbox repair tool on my .PST 4. Ran OFFCLEAN and removed all MS Office programs and outlook. 5. Reinstalled OFFICE 2K and outlook. No changes 6. Removed my outlook profile and created a new PST and readded my profile. 7. Deleted .CHK's and .TMP's. Deleted Temporary internet files and windows temp directory
My company does not use an exchange server, it is a POP3 server, BTW.
I know this has to be an outlook problem, because I can get mail in allegro with trouble.
Any ideas? |

Have you installed IE6.0? It seems a LOT of us here (not all) were having problems with IE6.0 interfering with Outlook mail. I removed 6.0 and reverted back to 5.5 and the mail was fine after that. If that's not the problem, I'm stymied but maybe someone else here might know. Rich |

Yes I did upgrade to IE 6 but it sucked so I went back to 5.5 that's when mail problems started. When it removed 6 it wiped out Outlook Express. So I had to reinstall OE |

There is a lengthy thread in this forum dedicated to this issue, with the solution. Check it out: HELP! I'm getting empty e-mail messages. |

Re: Strange Outlook 2000 problemSince IE6 is a beta, basically, I don't think it removes itself properly.
I would suggest a complete remove / reinstall of outlook (but backup first!) and try to redo IE5.5
since its tied in with the os so much, you really can't just remove it. |

I tried the suggesting in the other thread it seemed to work. But you know I kinda like allegro mail, so I may just stick with that. Thanks |
