Re: New Firmware - Built in TX mW selection UPGRAD

What does the 10Mbps/half duplex do?
It slows the network card down to 10Mbps and switch to half duplex (ie one way communication at a time).

Not sure if it's 100% required, but I always like to do it before flashing firmware.

Re: New WRT54G Firmware - Built in TX mW selection

What do the TX antenna and RX antenna options do? How do we know which one is better? Right, Diversity, Left?

They are for using an external antenna. If you are using the stock antennas then Auto is the best setting.

If you replace of the stock antennas with a more powerful external antenna you can force its use by setting the txant and rxant commands.

Thanks! That makes sense. I imagine by Auto you mean Diversity since there are only 3 options (Right, Diversity, Left) and Diversity is listed as the default.

I think you must be using the Wifibox or some other firmware. On mine they are labled "Left", "Right", "Auto". I'm sure the behavior is the same as it's a simple modification that just reflects an internal command state outwards.

Sveasoft you are correct. I am actually using wifibox at the moment. I see what you mean. Thanks for the assistance.
