Re: Poll: What Anti-Trojan Program do you use? said by wozzeck: I see your point, but it can go this way:
If i'm a neighboor and see your back door open (pardon the pun), and thiefs gathered around the corner about to walk in. Am i not being the friendly neighbor by shutting your windows, and closing your doors?
That's how I see it from my perspective, at least.
That wasn't your intent.
No one gave you the keys to the house, and no one asked you to look out for the thugs.
As far as I am concerned, there wouldn't BE any burglers without neighbors like you. -- Folding can save a life!

| reply to ethics$ This poll had slipped my mind. Great results. Making me think I should at least take a look at The Cleaner and see what makes it so popular. I know TD3 & Tauscan are great. And for now I'm useing the TFAK5.
Thanks for bring it back topside davidovv -- * Problems are only solutions waiting to be found... |

The Cleaner is in use by many for at least one reason: Daniel Otis-Vigil has been "the first" in coding a specific antitrojan. We've been participating in the first beta testing (same goes for Mikhail Zakhryapin's Tauscan). That said, The Cleaner has a nice database, nifty extra's (TCActive and TCMon). On the other hand: it does not clean that smooth as Tauscan does, and does not update often enough lately (same goes for Tauscan IMO). Finally, I'm not happy with the fact Otis-Vigil is not willing to address the capacities from f.e. the Buschtrommel trojan, which can be instructed NOT to scan .exe files (thus no trojanservers) for security apps in their database - and The Cleaner is in this database. Zakhryapin is trying hard to code a defense against the capacities from Buschtrommel, Bionet, Cyberspy etc. So is Wayne from DCS/TDS3. Since we are in contact quite often, we keep those who will not address these risks "hammering".
Ok. nuff said
