u're crazy if you think 60 for 6mbit/608kbps is hotdeal... i rather have me 3mbit/384k for 30 a month. 60 x 12 = 720 a years plus taxes... This can really add up, if you really have money to blow well even 99 a month isn't too much to pay. But for most of us this still too much to pay |

| When you consider that at this time two years ago, people were happily paying $59/month for PPPoE 1500/256, it's a smokin' deal to get 6000/608 with a static IP at the same price.
Regular price on 6000/384 from DSLExtreme was $189/month just a few months ago, and it had far less upstream!

army5 join:2002-04-30 Oklahoma City, OK | reply to attsbcisgay Why is it crazy? There are many of us DSL users who remember when DSL was $59.99 for 1.5/128. Since prices have dropped it was just a matter of time before they started offering greater speeds at a reasonable market value. If I was able to get the 6mb minus overhead I would be increasing my speed by 4x while only paying twice as much. Doesn't sound too crazy to me IMO.

 | reply to GNXPower Not my Cable Company either, I have RR cable and DSLE DSL. I pay more than $30 for the Cable. I think it's about $45 but since I have it with my Cable TV service I'm not 100% sure. so for $20 more, I get twice the speed, and less hops to the net, ON TOP OF the static IP! BING! Too bad I live 12K out. |

GNXPowerGot Boost?Premium join:2003-12-18 Huntington Beach, CA | I get my Comcast (which is still at 1800/300) for $43 and I had to buy my modem and my 1500/128 Verizon is $30/mo after I buy their Verizon Freedom package.
I don't care how you look at it, save for Surewest or OOL there is no beating this $60, price guaranteed forever 6Mb down 600kbps up deal from Speakeasy. |

 | reply to Y2X Is that the only ISP that is available? I'm sure there are other choices like cable or satellite. |

 | reply to djrobx I think this is awesome price from awesome company. Even though i had to dump DSLextreme last year because i had to have more upstream and qualified to get digizip line (1.5/768 for $44.99) , i was very happy with them. Since i have no contract with digizip , i'm very tempted to go back. I have to make up my mind , i dont know , on one hand i ALREADY have rock solid 1.3 - 655 line with no down time at all , on other i'd have to be without DSL for few weeks and still have less upload. (but much better download). 5 static IP's that i have with digizip might make me stay with them.

768 Upload is very good, some will even trade their 6mbit/384k connection for that... faster download without faster upload sucks |

 | reply to attsbcisgay Hrm. I was paying close to $150/month for IDSL (144k/144k) in 1998. 6M for $60 is a pretty good deal to me. |

6000/384 has become 6000/608 per the recent changes to SBC-ASI's tiers. While 608k is not 768k, is still pretty good. I'd much rather have 6000/608 than 1500/768, but would probably rather have 3000/768 than 6000/384.
I don't see much use of having more than one static IP address, unless you have a roommate who wants to run his own set of servers.
