A bridged connection instead of PPPoE. It's unlikely I'll ever get SBC service as long as they're using PPPoE.

I hate to bust your bubble but there isn't really
any performance difference between PPPoE and DHCP.

I was originally on DHCP at my first location and
when it switched to PPPoE, my speed actually increased
by 11% to my surprise.

Likewise, at my current location, I run nearly at
the full 6 Mbps in normal use and actually surpass it
when downloading large files.

There also has been no significant change in the
length of IP retention either. The average time
to keep the same IP was about the same. It's not
uncommon to keep the same IP for weeks and sometimes
even months on PPPoE.
