I recently used SpyBotSD (my fave) to clean up a more recent New.Net infection. Ran SpyBot and restarted. SpyBot ran before the OS loaded, still coudn't delete the New.Net entry (NewNet.dll) or something similiar.
I than ran Adaware which cleaned out the New.Net files. Problem solved.
