 | thats the thing sbc will be get a speed increase with lower prices . so how would mci compete with higher price makes no sense. |

For $45.00 a month that is awesome. Britsys.net is a great isp and has been rock solid but im willing to lose some download speed and save a few bucks. But I do not want to be paying more for less. I think I'll hold out for a couple of weeks to see how MCI & Britsys.net respond. |

 | reply to lopies I'm also waiting to see what MCI has to offer in response to the Bells. I was with Pacbell but switched away and have been happy. Pacbell seems to have upped the ante a bit now. |

The rumor is that new speeds will be available in the summer but i dont know what they will be, at least 3.0/768k but possibly upto 8.0/1.0 which is what their equipment can handle.

Woa, that would really be sweet. Would you have any ballpark figures of prices? Same as competitors? More? Less? |
|
 | reply to lopies Yes....and how close would one have to be to their CO to qualify for the speed increase to 3.0 or 8.0? I would think very close...like under 5,000 feet. -- "This place makes Cambodia look like Kansas..." |

 | reply to lopies MCI needs to do something, or it won't hold my interest. |
|
 | reply to lopies Yeah I might switch once my contract runs out this summer. |
|
 | reply to lopies I just read from the Cyberonic forum that they have a 6mbps down stream , 768 upstream plan. Cyberonic is a reseller of MCI, so I am assuming that the plan is with MCI. My contract is up, and I am ready to sign a new one! So any one know a good deal/promotion? I would love to get the 8mbps down, 1 mbps up plan! It will rock! I am only 4200 feet away from the CO. |
|
 | reply to lopies The 6/768 package is not on the MCI backbone. It's covad. |
