NPGMBR join:2001-03-28 Arlington, VA | This Is Great News I probably won't be able to get the service as I live in an apartment, but it will give some much needed competition to those bastards at Comcrap that keep jacking up my rates.
After being with VZ for two years I switched to Comcrap for one year. Just last month, I switched back to VZ. It meant having to have a landline again but having the most basic landline service and my DSL still comes out much less than Comcrap that charges me for the digital converter, the modem and I wouldn't be surprised if they charge a rental fee for the remote.
A point that someone else mentioned is that cable is getting too damd expensive and because of that I should have the option to pick and choose the channels I want. I don't want ESPN, FOX Sports, HSN, QVC, or any of that other stuff I'm not interested in.
Give me HBO, SHO, MSNBC, CNN, FOX, Local channels, History, Discovery, and others that I want.
I hear that the reason cable has to raise rates so often is because the networks (Particularly Sports Networks) have to have a way to pay salaries to million dollar athletes (current and retired) so the cable companies have to pass it onto the consumer.
Then I say the cable companies should give the consumers a choice thereby forcing the sports networks to lower their outrageous prices.
I sincerely hope that VZ and Direct TV can give do this for comsumers. In my area (Arlington, VA) Comcrap has outstanding service but the price hikes, and forcing people to upgrade to digital to get premium channels is just freakin evil. |
