sig : Some people who have gotten the upgrade say they never got an email or got it after they got the new speeds. So an email may or may not be relevant.

Despite what commercials may say, I'm not aware of new speeds having been implemented in Sacto yet. I'd bet people would be posting here if they'd gotten them. All I've seen to date is threads asking when the upgrade is supposed to be here and if anyone in the area has them yet. I think some outlying areas in the Valley may have higher speeds but not in Sacto proper.

I'm just waiting too like the others. There's a month left in the first quarter of 2004 (which is when everyone is supposed to have the new speeds).

Meanwhile SureWest has been snooping around my neighborhood and was checking out the sunken box WinFirst put in my front yard right before they went bankrupt years ago. So who knows, there soon may be cable competition to Comcast in at least parts of downtown Sacto. :)

brandon_k_w : Here in Sacramento, they had a commercial advertising that they now have the increased internet speeds, but I am not noticing any faster speeds. I ran the speed test here, and it's the same as months ago. I unplugged the modem for 30seconds, replugged it back in, and it still isn't working. Anyone from Sacramento getting the increased speeds? TIA
