I shouldn't think of my setup as a "Workstation".

It's not job-related.
It's not performance/speed related.
It's not expensive.

It's pretty much just about being fun-related.

But the user-area is pretty messy and sloppy.

From left:

Unused 13" HiRez Monitor sitting on a 6115 case, worn-out HP 550c printer.

PowerMac 7100s, left one 56 MB ram with G3 upgrade, right 40 MB ram - both running Mac OS 8.1
Bigger monitor is 14" Multiscan.

(L) Can't see the details but
Easy Beat Midi software playing James Brown Papa's Got A Brand New Bag mid file as a classical reed ensemble, lol

(R) Avid Video 2.0 showing that Pepsi iTunes ad in its timeline.
(Orig MP4 was exported as H 263 mov (240x130) so Quicktime 5 could play it)

Grey flat panel left-speaker made by Monsoon.
The white external scsi case is a Radius Studio Array external HDD (one of its two hard drives is not working)
which sits on top of a black Magnavox cheapo VCR.

Under the black VCR:
Macintosh IIsi (20 MHz Motorola 68030 cpu, 33 MB ram, 160 MB hard drive)
Edit Blazing!! with Mac OS 7.1

Under the Mac IIsi:
PowerMac 8100/110 (nearest the wall) and a Quadra 840av (front).
The Radius Studio Array scsi external hard drive case would normally be hooked up to the 8100.
The black VCR is hooked up to the Quadra 840av via RCA cables (Cheapo VCR doesn't have S-Video).

Macintosh 13" Color Display in the corner is playing an Animatrix svcd via Apex DVD player (under 13" Display).
The Apex is connected by S-Video cable to Radius 24TV frame grabber NuBus video card in the IIsi.
Movies play great and appear to be millions of colors too.

The two towers:
Performa 6400 and PowerMac 8600 w/G3/400 MaxPower upgrade sit under red-orange metal table.

All Macs are working.

Apex DVD player under 13" monitor

PowerMac 7500/200 under the black Apex DVD player (Apex's RCA cables hookup to this 7500)

PowerMac 6115 w/Sonnet G3 upgrade sits under the shelf supporting the 7500.

The game, Descent II is diplayed on 17" monitor at right.
This monitor is a Gateway VGA monitor hooked up with an adapter to the 8600 tower.

The three 17" monitors:
Gateway ev700 (vga)
NEC MultiSync XV (vga)
Apple Studio Display

The two pc monitors sit on top of Quadra 605 cases....just the right height.
The NEC is hooked up with an adapter to the G4/400's el cheapo PCI xMicro 8 MB vid card.
The Apple Studio Display is hooked up to the G4/400's nVidia GeForce 2, 32 MB AGP card.

The left-most small Apple keyboard is hooked up to a ADB switchbox so four Macs can use it.
The big white keyboard is hooked to the 8600 tower.
The grey keyboard's for the G4/400....2 button scroll-wheel Logitech mouse on the right.

A PowerMac 6320 desktop sits unused on the floor; This was my TV Mac.

The small pair of grey slim external speakers at either end of this Mac grouping are Monsoons.
The Sub Woofer sits under the Monitor bench.

There's a separate circuit fuse for all this,
and the grounding is to a buried copper bar.

OMG. I bow in your presence.

I have that many computers, but they are not organized any more since my mother-in-law moved in and took my computer room. They are in a pile in the garage.

It's nice to see all that old hardware up and running.

BTW, I notice you have an old UMAX Astra scanner as well.

Mine spent an embarrassing amount of time in the same position, especially after I couldn't find any OS X drivers for it. Now I use a hand me down Agfa scanner. It works great!

Yeah, the last thing I remember reading about Umax and their scanner software
was that now one had to pay for the drivers that were once free downloads.

Even before that policy,
I never did get around to updating the orig software that came with it.

I'll still use the Umax scanner if need be with any legacy Mac though.
I still have the orig CD installer.

Oh? Is the mother-in-law moving into the garage, and the computers back into the computer room? Glad to see you have things back in the right order!
