Sweet Witch : Try clearing the CMOS just to make sure it isn't something simple. Even though it's a new board, one bad boot can cause it to need to be refreshed to not 'remember' the bad boot.
--
I'm a girl by the way :).

Bios has bad info for HD

bmwnut : I bought a new MB, DFI NFII 400-AL, with AMD 2500+ and installed my old 80 gig HD, which bios recognizes, but which cannot be accessed. The CYL, HD, & SECT readings are not the same as in my old MB. Re-installed on the old MB and it works fine. Istalled an older HD with W98 and worked fine.
The new MB Bios is Phoenix Award v6.00 PG. I can find no way to modify the noted settings as there are only four options in the Bios, Auto, CHS, LBA, & Large, none of which will allow access to the HD. The old MB Bios allowed a User option to set the noted readings.

Any ideas,
Thanks, bmwnut
