| Someone say 'snakeoil'? :) IMO, if you dance with the devil, then you can't complain when he knocks on your door to collect his dues.
You have to be a brain dead sponge to think that file trading is ok.
Sure its ok to trade "free" programs like linux, but to think its "kool" to trade a new release CD/game/movie is just lame.
I am sure its flattering to the cast and crew of the movies that are traded for free, to see that their movie is "hot" on te P2P networks. But when it comes to getting a paycheck, will the P2P network support them?
I doubt it. Nearly all of the P2P peeps are the "something for nothing" crowd. Instead of working for the cash to pay for the cd or movie, they'd rather steal it [the song or movie or program].
I'd like to see a "surcharge" added to evry broadband users account. Make it 10 bucks a month per so much down load. Go past the download limit, pay another 10 bucks.
I doubt that p2p is going way, so maybe charging by the amount downloaded over a certain limit is the way to go.
Or go back to a pay by the hour to surf the net.. kinda like the old AOL.
Broadband providers don't help with their ads talking about fast file transfer rates.
VPN, BBS.. Host them in a country or on a private island where the laws of the US don't apply, what can then the RIAA, MPAA, and the programers do?
Just what they have, attack those in the US. -- "He told me that if you can't tell something fom right or wrong, ask yourself if you mind people seeing what your doing. If you'd rather keep it a secret, then maybe it aint so right after all"From: Hunter page 389. Author: James Byron Huggins | | |

I'm sure we can all trust you as you've undoubtedly studied a representative sample of sharers, then specifically file sharers and came to that conclusion. Please point me to your thesis.
