stateq2control the codePremium join:2003-03-27 Jackson, MS | Cable > DSL well, from personal experience, I'm enjoying cable more than DSL. My first DSL ISP, provided 1500/128 (i got 1200/130) for $69/month.....and they limited downloads to 4 gigabytes/month, and stated that total weekly upload can NEVER be more than the downloads. Obviously, I had to cut them off.
My next option was a DSL provider who offered 768/128 w/ no download/upload limits for $65/month. All was going good for about a month.....then my download was cut in HALF! I was constantly getting 320/128 speed. I called the people, and they told me that was their way of controlling bandwidth. Bye, bye DSL.
Currently, I'm using mediacom cable internet....and I couldn't be happier. $55/month(internet alone) for a 3000/256 line I had a few speed problems at the start, but everything seems to be resolved now. Even at peak times, I'm getting better speed than my old DSL was getting at 2 am. -- My Webpage | Linux | Nope, we don't sell that here. | policy | | migPremium,MVM join:2000-10-26 Anytown, USA | Had Cox cable before and didn't really have a problem with it. However after 2 price increases I went with SBC DSL 1500/128 x 2 years @ 39.99, then increased to 49.99 x 1 year, then rerated to 29.99 before new price promo of 1.5-3/384 for 45.00. However, d/l speeds up to 6.0 if close enough to CO or RT. I get 5000/515 for 45.00.
No way COX cable will match that. COX cable is too busy adding ridiculous channels that no one wants and increasing their rates continously. Guess thats what we get with only 1 cable franchise in the city....a monopoly! | |
