Verizon Hawaii is being sold so there goes DSL

Verizon Hawaii is up for sale. Speculation is that whoever buys it won't do anything to improve the DSL situation here and the current offerings may get worse or become non existent. Businesses here who rely on DSL are worried. Verizon is selling the Hawaii lines because they say there is no growth potential. Of course there is but they don't want to invest in it and not likely the buyer will care either.

I can't get Verizon DSL and I live in the second largest city in Hawaii. I'm 24,000 feet from the CO. So, here in Hawaii, it is Oceanic Time Warner Cable if you want broadband and it looks like Oceanic is going to have little or no competition once Verizon is sold. I foresee higher prices for Road Runner and that is assuming you can get it. The majority on this island are condemned to dial up for the indefinite future.

Thats okay....dial-up is good enough for that little island out in the pacific.

I hear Earthlink is pretty good.
