Don't do it, It doesn't work, connect your modem directly to your NIC, I've tested it out through Linksys and it doesn't work.

I think RR disables the ability of the CM to respond to this program. Could be wrong though.

I noticed a few people have done it, I only know it's disabled via Toshiba PCX2600 Cable Modem.

some have been able to use it before the CM syncs up. not sure if you get any info about what speeds are set at this way though.

The Config File is stored inside of the Cable Modem so it should be able to extract the information out.

Speed increased here as well... Here are the results:

2004-02-24 19:19:46 EST: 5540 / 491
Your download speed : 5540685 bps, or 5540 kbps.
A 676.3 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 491118 bps, or 491 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

It seems the speeds were put into place overnight...and users "Mysteriously" started seeing things going faster. Now I wonder what Brighthouse users will think when the entire RR/TWC Network gets upgraded.

I think more rr subscriber are going to do the switch to sbc if they don't quickly upgrade their speed!
Why pay 44.95 for 3/384 when more speed, 6/608 can be had for the same amount? provided that sbc serves your area and you are more then qualified for expert pk.

Not everyone is in range for those SBC Speeds, now if RR/TWC will be upgrading their network....Verizon & BellSouth may be pressured to upgrade speeds now.

yeah, looks like the gap between rr and ool is narrowing. looks like a direct response to the SBC speeds though, given they are near identical.
