I'm very skeptical but this is what I see
on my status page. This is the status page
for the Southern Tier area of New York.

Don't know if it's a speed increase but check your modems after 6 AM tomorrow morning.

From a memo I read a couple days ago.

Thanks, Are the speeds permanent? Or just testing?

The Config File is stored inside of the Cable Modem so it should be able to extract the information out.

Right, but the problem is, the information is extracted by querying the modem via SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). RR config files either disable SNMP or change it to require a community string that we don't know (in effect, a password). So once a modem syncs with RR, DocsDiag stops working. I've tested this, and sure enough, DocsDiag works during my modem's startup, and stops working as soon as the modem syncs.

I have to agree with you on this, I've tried that method too.

I understand now, when I had the PCX1100U(Currently with the 2600), I didn't even run the DocsDiag program so wasn't sure if it was disabled or not...Thanks for the information though.

When the shoot'n war stops I wonder if we will see a $$ increase?

But I suspected an increase would be needed for digital phone. I was only expecting one for upload, but won't mind an increase in download as well.

Q: what is the only kind of good war?

A: bandwidth and price!

This is definitely good for the consumer.

Same here, I think their extra bandwidth also has to do with their new Deployment of TWC Digital Phone Service(Upstream Speeds) and just the fact that they are trying to keep up in the broadband market.

I'm on Road Runner from TWNC in Raleigh, NC and I haven't seen an increase in speed yet.
This must be a very localized speed increase.
