Re: [Equipment] Pulver Internet Phone Patch testers Hi, I have been using the IIP for a few weeks now. Works much better then the $49 PCPhoneline.com version. That device would not hang up often after a call and was only one directional. I use it in Bali Indonesia to call from my cellphone to my office and then hop to a SPA 2000 to call anywhere in the world for 95% lower charges then my phonecompany. I also have set it to forward call to my NY to my cell in Bali. Never had a problem. Voicequality much better the PCPhoneline (I guess for $200 that should be the case). |

 | The issue is the cost of the device. It is a bit costly, in my opinion. |
|
 | The choice from my side is being able to deliver a product that works based on my vision vs. the cost of other products which claim to do what the IPP does but in reality fail to deliver.
We designed the IPP based on the marketplace realities and spend a significant amount of time making sure we pass Part 68 of the FCC requirements - something just about no one else has done. While there are more features that I would like to see in the product, we decided to start shipping the product rather than innovate on the feature set which was keeping it in our development lab.
The IPP represents a part of my vision - and this is all about the ultimate empowerment of the consumer which in turn enables people to become a "personal telco." |

 | I've been using the internet phone patch for about two weeks now and have had very few problems. Two observations: When dialing into the patch from the SIP side, the initial voice-message is often clipped or finishes before the call processing is completed. This is not a problem in the IPP itself, and I know to enter my password even if I don't hear the message; however, I think it would be useful to be able to program a message delay or a message repeat if needed. I also would like to be able to set the number of rings before answer so I don't have to disconnect the IPP when I'm home and not using it. Hopefully new programming functions and capabilities can be added to the current units with a prom upgrade. Overall, the internet phone patch works well and will more than pay for itself over the next year. I look forward to watching this product develop. |

I have found exactly the same thing. I wondered why, becuase when I dial in on the same port using a phone it doesn't occur. I wondered whether it was the VoIP adaptor itself, and in the next step was planning to hook a phone up in parallel to see whether it was the IPP or the Sipura.
Voice quality is fine during calls.
Have you found CallerID working consistently? It works sometimes, but most of the time, I get the clipped message and guess I have to enter the password (which works fine through is a hassle).
Do you use the Sipura?

RESPONSE: We must have missed this one and it is not only fully of incorrect information but is also misleading.
> Hi, I have been using the IIP for a few weeks now. Works much better then > the $49 PCphoneline.com version.
RESPONSE: Our product is actually $39 and has never been $49. Yes that right - only $39 !!!
That device would not hang up often after a > call and was only one directional.
RESPONSE: We do not know who wrote this comment and do not recognize him as a customer and are a bit skeptical . Our product works in both directions. If he was one of our customers it must have worked well enough not to submit a trouble report or return the product as we offer a 30 day money back guarantee.

RESPONSE: Both products simply connect 2 x two wire connections together and pass the audio through. This amounts to a conference circuit and there will natually be a limited amount of volume loss on the connection. It is a natural telecoms phenomenon. Outside this issue, no product will work for all applications as the condition of the outside line plant (i.e. the wiring the telephone company has installed from the telephone exchange to your home or offhice) is never known and may be in poor condition or incorrectly engineered. In the case of the latter, the issue may in certain cases only be rectified by an onsite line engineer through the application of additional inline resistors, load coals and similar devices. That's the technical reality.

RESPONSE: We are confident that we have no less than 1000 times the number of units installed than the IPP in at least 20-30 times as many countries. Our product was originally developed against ITU specifications accepted worldwide and the latest release now supports Bellcore/Ansi busy tone detection. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee on our product. |

Jeff, how about a preview of coming attactions (e.g. features) to the IPP.

Re: [Equipment] Pulver Internet Phone Patch testers Big Billy, Serial number of device is 03072046. Shipping forth and back to Bali Indonesia is not possible for a $39 (ok?) product. The device would not hang-up properly around 25% of the time. Perhaps it was a faulty unit...
I do have something negative on Pulver's device. The port for line A came off from the circuit board. One of the two feet was broken and the other somewhat bend. Fortunately the pins are not soldered to the board, so I guess with some superglue the port can be reattached to the board.
