Re: [Equipment] Pulver Internet Phone Patch testers

The choice from my side is being able to deliver a product that works based on my vision vs. the cost of other products which claim to do what the IPP does but in reality fail to deliver.

We designed the IPP based on the marketplace realities and spend a significant amount of time making sure we pass Part 68 of the FCC requirements - something just about no one else has done. While there are more features that I would like to see in the product, we decided to start shipping the product rather than innovate on the feature set which was keeping it in our development lab.

The IPP represents a part of my vision - and this is all about the ultimate empowerment of the consumer which in turn enables people to become a "personal telco."

I've been using the internet phone patch for about two weeks now and have had very few problems. Two observations: When dialing into the patch from the SIP side, the initial voice-message is often clipped or finishes before the call processing is completed. This is not a problem in the IPP itself, and I know to enter my password even if I don't hear the message; however, I think it would be useful to be able to program a message delay or a message repeat if needed. I also would like to be able to set the number of rings before answer so I don't have to disconnect the IPP when I'm home and not using it. Hopefully new programming functions and capabilities can be added to the current units with a prom upgrade.
Overall, the internet phone patch works well and will more than pay for itself over the next year. I look forward to watching this product develop.

Larry,

I have found exactly the same thing. I wondered why, becuase when I dial in on the same port using a phone it doesn't occur. I wondered whether it was the VoIP adaptor itself, and in the next step was planning to hook a phone up in parallel to see whether it was the IPP or the Sipura.

Voice quality is fine during calls.

Have you found CallerID working consistently? It works sometimes, but most of the time, I get the clipped message and guess I have to enter the password (which works fine through is a hassle).

Do you use the Sipura?

Regards

Mike

Jeff, how about a preview of coming attactions (e.g. features) to the IPP.

And can older units be updated?
