 | Moving, Need to transfer existing phone service Hi. I am Moving to a new address, need to transfer existing phone service. I was told by SBC I need to cancel my existing dsl service with a local ISP before I can move my phone service over to the new house. I don't want to cancel my service, though. How should I go about this ?
Thanks, Anthony. |

CoronaIt's cool, I'm takin it backPremium join:2000-03-14 Dallas, TX | There is a process called "F&T" that works for DSL now. Ask about that option when you call to transfer your voice service.
F&T stands for From and To. |

Re: Moving, Need to transfer existing phone servic I had the same sort of problem a few years ago when I moved. SBC could not move my voice line because of a DSL connection. And my ISP could not move the Covad DSL line because there is no phone line at the new place. After a few talk to my ISP they agreed to waived the disconnection/re-connection fee and I had to go this route: - disconnect from Covad - wait a few days (5) - request SBC to move my phone line - wait until the phone is live at the new place - request re-connection to Covad DSL.
It seems that SBC can move both voice and DSL if both belong to them. I don't even think that you can change a phone number if the line has DSL attached to it. I could be wrong and things could have changed in the last 2 years. |
