 | Upgrade CableBuster to Residential after install? Hi,
I'm considering ordering BritSys DSL for Chicago (2300 W. Wabansia, 60647, 773-235-xxxx). I understand that the speed diff between 1.5/768 CableBuster and Residential is a guarantee of 50% and 70% thruput, respectively.
Could I first sign up as CableBuster and hope that I get 70%-plus thruput and then upgrade to Residential if I don't? Or is this too overtly "cheating the system"?

 | My location above says "Boulder, CO" but that's old. I'm in Chicago now (for my current and my soon-to-be-new address). I've updated my broadreports.com profile accordingly, hopefully it will show up properly now (to the left). -Matt |

The difference is that if you have the residential ADSL and your speeds are between 50% and 70% we will open a trouble ticket with MCI to find the problem.
With the Cable buster plan we would only open a ticket if throughput consistently dropped below 50% of sync speed (after TCP/ATM overhead).
You can always upgrade if you want the peace of mind but you cant downgrade until after 12 month, its like upgrading the CIR (Committed information rate) on T1 circuits. Upgrading will also get you 5 email accounts vs 1 email account.
