 | Schedule install prior to move-in to new home? Hi,
Summary: I'm trying to get DSL service as quickly as possible after I move into a new place. It's important I get my home office up and running very quickly. Any suggestions?
Details:
I'm considering ordering BritSys DSL for Chicago (a condo at 2300 W. Wabansia, 60647, 773-235-xxxx). I am interested in the MCI/Worldcom CableBuster or Residential service at 1.5/768.
I have yet to move into the above place, and am scheduled to do so on 3/20/04. Is it possible to "advance" order phone/DSL service so that it can be ready on 3/20...or sometime shortly thereafter?
I am friends with the person who's living at this place currently, I doubt he'd be willing to disconnect his phone line, but he might let me switch names/service for the phone on the existing SBC phone line (assuming this is technically possible?). Does this help?
Thanks for any help! -Matt |

Most houses have two copper pairs, some have the ability for 4 copper pairs (newer houses) so there should be room for your line.
Check with him to see if he only has one voice line in use.
This would allow you to order the voice line straight away and then order the DSL line once the voice install is complete.
