The cable running outside is a lightening rod!
Hope your area doesn't have spring storms!!!
I think you said the cable is connected to 100 Base-T on both sides. Get lightening/surge suppression for both ends or you may fry some equipment...

Haha, I should start a co-location service:) I'm not sure if they have anything to protect from lightning on their end but what exactly would i need to use for this on both ends (if you can point me to certain products or some reading, that would be great)?

I would entertain the possibility of running a game server for peeps but as I'm not that into games, what kind of interest in specific games do you guys have?
