The people that would be affected negatively by downloading and running the file would be too stupid to have any real mentality to abuse. -- "I reverse my right to type siht the wrong way." |

My files don't claim to be copyrighted works, they claim to be illegal hacks of legitimate works.
Do feel I am wrong when I use p2p to get seriels even when I all ready own the software and lost the seriel? What about if I ost the disk also? Due to the fact that motherboards always seem to come with Norton Antivirus I must have it times five. Yet I always missplace the cd. |

I also don't quite get the idea of using Gnutella to download something that is freely available directly from the source, where you would know exactly what you are getting. »ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/···so/i386/
It takes stress off the servers. Besides you have to sit there looking for Red Hat servers that are not busy the last time I did it. P2P you can start a search for it. Pick a version and leave it find none busy sources on it's own. Also people do it just to add lagitmacy to P2P. Nothing wrong with that. |

I disagree. The authors of this bait state that when the program phones home, it reports the name of the downloaded file. If the name of the file has been changed to something that appears "legitimate" (such as an anti-virus program), then they'll know that the person who downloaded that file was NOT trying to pirate anything. Therefore, their IP can be removed from the database.
The program has been cracked. What would prevent someone modifing to instead of saying the creator is gay it looked just as if someone ran the norton named version on justin's sight? IE it was named Firefox but reported it's name as Norton? |

How does that have anything to do with the price of tea in China?
My comment was based on what the ORIGINAL program did. That unmodified program had built-in protection to ensure that people trying to download legitimate files would not be labeled pirates in the database. So if someone hacks the program to report back the wrong information, how can my comment possibly be considered to be related to that??? |

Because their database has no safe gaurds to prevent that? |
