Re: Proxo un proxied :D I don't filter DSLR I found it placed in my IE Proxy Bypass list... I was just wondering do you think perhaps it might be a remnant from WebWasher? Could be?
I haven't made any changes to your default .cfg file as I said I would not. The questions that Flippant had were the exact same as mine concerning the DSLr site and it's graphics.
said by Flippant: ...On a separate note, has anyone else noticed that even on bypassed (trusted) sites there seems to be some level of filtering occurring? I have a couple examples I might trot out if this does not get a response.
I don't plan on filtering DSLr at all, in fact that was the purpose of the bypass proxy listing. So that it doesn't filter and by that I should have full a website as it is presented from Justin. And speed will be there as well as opposed to using the Proxo proxy settings. Thus, it is my wish to bypass DSLr completely as you have mentioned in your previous post.
Zhen, Am I correct on this, or am I missing something?

And last question, did you enter "www.dslreports.com" in the Proxo ByPassList file? |
|
cjsmithPremium join:2000-11-03 Villa Rica, GA | I had a hunch that you were going to ask that...Lol
The URL is listed in Tools/Internet Options/Connections/Lan Settings/Advanced and can be found within the exceptions dialog box.
www.dslreports.com was there as I said earlier. I still have it as such.
Regarding the adding of DSLrs URL in the Proxo ByPassList file. I can't recall, I don't think I had made any changes. The last thing I changed there was the loading of your .cfg file. If I am not mistaken, around the time of that load was when I noticed the DSLr URL within IE ...exceptions (Proxy ByPass List).
I could be mistaken because I hadn't went into any configuration within Proximitron at all since the default .cfg load.
The only other URL's in the exceptions dialog box now are:
www.dslreports.com;www.i.dslr.com;*dslr*;www.yahoo.com;mail.yahoo.com;»login.yahoo.com/config
Yes, I have an old Yahoo email account that I can not login to access with Proxo so I have it bypassed... |

Zhen-XjellProlific BunnyPremium,VIP,ExMod 2001-04 join:2000-10-08 Bordentown, NJ | Thanks Cj for replying so quickly. Yes, you can remove all your URLS from the exception list. IE tools are no longer required, and be now be forgotten.
My config file is good for the filters only. You have to go into Proxo, the Config button, under the Bypass tab you will see the BypassList file. Select it and edit it. Add www.dslreports.com, save the file and save your Proxo default config setup.
DSLR will now be instantly put into the Proxo bypass list. -- »All your Smurf are belong to Smurf! »Final thoughts on Privacy Control Applications |

| Cj, that is why. This is my fault, because even though I mentioned in my review thread one should upgrade to Naoko 4 Beta 4, it most likely got lost in the fray.
Please, go ahead and upgrade to the beta version. Just simply extract the contents of the beta of the current Naoko 3 directory (over write everything in it), and then copy my default config file into the directory once again. At that point, follow my instructions above.
Naoko 4 is the real winner here, not Naoko 3. It is like two different applications.
UPDATE: Hence... in order of installation:
Copy Naoko 3 contents into a directory Over-write the directory with Naoko 4 Beta 4 contents Over-write the default config file with mine
Please note, that Proxo provides other config samples. Mine works for me, but you can also try the others, and then work towards a solution that is best for you. -- »All your Smurf are belong to Smurf! »Final thoughts on Privacy Control Applications [text was edited by author 2001-06-16 23:03:28] |

Re: Proxomitron a Bust on IE6 Beta said by Zhen-Xjell: In your Bypasslist config file, all you need to enter is www.dslreports.com. I did not have to include i.dslr.net, everything works fine for me.
said by cjsmith: Flippant I am assuming that you are adding the dslr url,s to your IE proxy bypass list?
Background: Using Proxo Naoko-4(Beta Four). I have configured a Bypass list in Startup and Blockfile. I originally just had www.dslreports.com and a couple other sites.
Problem 1: On DSLR I was getting lots of image placeholders on pages. Avatars, folders, smilies and all kinds of doodads often came up blank. I opened the message window and saw i.dslr.net was often used for images (already knew this but didn't think of it until this reminder).
Problem 2: Using the speed test I set it to verbose. During the running of the test additional message text was being introduced. Sorry but I don't have an example of the text. Will need to wait until tomorrow when I have 3 new ones available.
I first added the i.dslr.net url to the bypass file and lo and behold all graphics started to show up. Pages also seemed to load much quicker. Still had the problem with the speed tset. Added *dslr* to the bypass list and the additional text in the speed tests then disappeared. |

Re: Proxomitron a Bust on IE6 Beta Good job Flippant!
I have also noticed the extra text within the speed test. I have added your URL's to my IE ByPassList but haven't checked it out as far as the speed test verbose yet. But, I don't think I have to now. I will go and download the Naoko-4(Beta Four) and reload ZX's default .cfg. then add your suggested URLs to my Proxo bypass list. Then as per Zhen I will remove the additions to my IE ByPassList (exceptions).
Keep it going, I am sure ZX will be happy to see your post as I am. |

This is interesting Flippant, I have only www.dslreports.com, and the entire site is bypassed, all the images show up without any issues. Can you post the text for your logfile while you load a page at DSLR? quote:

Very interesting. I'd like to see both log files (with and without i.dslr.net in the bypasslist). UPDATE:
Just ran a speed test from the NY site:

Very interesting. Very neat difference between the two configurations Flippant. Thanks for pointing out what yours looks like compared to say, mine. Can you post up also what your speed test reveals?

I am beginning to wonder if this is a cache issue. I have your default configuration, I think I may just give that a shot. Don't worry I will save my current one for comparison later.
Just noticed the 404 error. |
|
Zhen-XjellProlific BunnyPremium,VIP,ExMod 2001-04 join:2000-10-08 Bordentown, NJ | It might be the cache or something else. You see, i.dslr.net should not be in the bypasslist because you are not accessing that site in your URL. You are accessing www.dslreports.com, and since that address is in the bypasslist, then nothing in the pages you load are filtered. So I am wondering too if this is not cache related.

...Ok, here is my bypasslist.txt file. Make sure that within the Proxo Config button, in the Startup tab you have: $LST(BypassList) in the Bypass any URLs that match this expression.
