Is this standard operating procedure?

I am wanting to get rid of one of two telephone lines in my house, so I need to transfer my DSLi from the one line to the other line that will stay.

Ive been with DSLi for over a year now, happily so, and I would like to retain my month to month status

For this transfer do they make you sign up for 1 more year? Seems ridiculous if they do.

I have no idea if they will beat you up for a new contract or not.

DSLi will have to pay the teleco to move the circuit, so I would expect that cost to be passed on to you, and the teleco does have a term commitment on hookups that they may hold DSLi to if you were to cancel within that period.

yes....6 months...so I signed on for 6 months instead of the 12, which is fair.

Seems reasonable to me.
