This service has absolutely nothing to do with cell phones, aside from the fact that it's being offered by a cellular company. The service is used by PCs.
I just have Verizon Wireless Broadband Acess (in San Diego, EVDO area)for about a week, $79/month - 1 year contract, $299 for thier Airprime 5220 PC Card. Speed usually around 70KB/s download(=~ 700Kbps), I was on 24/7 for the past 7 days with only 1 lost connection (I'm on IRC all the time, so I logged whenever I got disconnected)
So far so good, I don't really have any complaining about wireless connection. Go Verizonnn !!!
