Re: Why Pirates?

The only reason I don't agree that I should be able to play iTunes music on any player I choose is because I bought the music with the understanding that this incompatibility would be one of its limitations. I bought the license to the music, and I am subject to the terms and conditions stated in that license. If Apple had said "download songs without any limitation whatsoever for only .99" then I would definitely agree with you. But its not like they tried to hide the fact that you would be unable to play this music on many players. By downloading music from iTunes, you agree that you will use the material that you have just purchased in the way that it is legally allowed. If you don't like this about iTunes, then you can go to another music download service, such as Napster, and use the more widely used (by no means am I saying superior) WMA format.
