Set your MTU to 1500 and your TCP receive window to 32120.
Also, change your MTU on your router to 1500.
Run the tweak again and post. |

Alright, this is the results I got before and after the tweak. I changed everything you told me to but the results seem worse than before.

| Could you try the speakeasy server you used before the tweak? This will let us compare more acurately.
Also, post a new updated tweak test. [text was edited by author 2003-08-13 00:29:04] |

 | reply to Hawkmoon2699 Ok, heres the tweak test: »ny-monitor.dslreports.com/tweak/···a=normal
but I couldn't use the speak easy server again, a red X in the upper left hand corner appeared and that was it... |

enOehTPremium join:2003-05-17 Langhorne, PA | Ok, I looked at the tweak test and you changed the MTU to 1500 successfully, good. But you didn't change the TCP receive window to 32120. Do that, then run another speed test and tweak test. |
|
 | I was pretty sure I set the window correctly, anyway, I checked and made sure it was correct and heres the new tests:

enOehTPremium join:2003-05-17 Langhorne, PA | Did you reboot? Cause you are still showing 64240 on the tweak test, not 32120. |
|

| Looking awesome!
Try this new speed test, I just found it, it seems ever more accurate than dslrs' speed test. Then post your results from here.
»web100.rit.edu:7123/
Try some of the speed test in Texas listed on this page too: »/stest?more=1 [text was edited by author 2003-08-13 01:54:22] |

 | Alright, here is some speed tests from the new place:
1. 2.12Mb/s|343.59Kb/s
2. 2.05Mb/s|343.59Kb/s
3. 1.47Mb/s|343.05Kb/s
4. 1.47Mb/s| 327.15Kb/s
Alright, seems to be okay, although from the first test on it has been in a decending fall |

| Your upload has improved, if you have noticed, and since you can't retest from the original speakeasy i wouldn't worry about. You are getting more than your advertised download speed. Enjoy the connection!
Actually, you set a new record with that first test of 2.12Mb/s that was the fastest test you posted. I am not sure what is up with the last two, I don't believe them.
I have RR too, and just to let you know I average in the 1900's. So I am jealous of your getting more the 2000 . Enjoy the speed! [text was edited by author 2003-08-13 02:10:44] |

 | Thank you VERY much for helping me out with this tweak, I didn't know there were people out there like you who do this for free. Well, again, I really apreciate everything you've done.
