A couple quick shots. He came in the mail today. I will try to get a shot of him out in the field in the next day or two. Then I will be sending him on. It is only 6.5" tall, so shipping should be minimal.

Mod edit: Photos of the gnome may be found here: »www.pbase.com/nezmo/bridwell

What a cute little fellow. Here's hoping that all he reaches have good luck. They're supposed to bring that, aren't they?

What's the deal with the Gnome? Is he getting sent around to board members, taking pictures, then moving on?

That's exactly it.

And I'm ready to take him in. (Now I just need to think of some good gnome-shots to take.)

Ok, many have asked his name. For some reason he reminds me of my Drafting Instructor. So I have decided his name shall be Bridwell.

As for who gets him next, well, I am going to try to find some time to get a good shot of him, hopefully today. So when I post the shot to the forum, the first person to post after the shot will get him next. I think that is fair. It gives everyone a equal shot at getting him. Once we see who posted first, I will get with them in private message to get your address.

The traveling Gnome......

This reminds me of the traveling frog that was in the news awhile back - someone swiped a persons frog from their garden, sent the owners a note from the frog saying it was on vacation. The whole time, they kept sending pictures of this frog in different places. The frog was eventually returned home.

As silly as this is, I am looking forward to seeing this little guy in all the different places that he is going to wind up at. I hope he becomes very well traveled.

I think ideally you need to photograph it/him in a scene that typifies the area that you live in - not next to a tree stump ! ...

Well, the problem is the size of the fella. He's only six inches tall! Are you saying you don't like short gnomes? LOL

I don't understand full whether this gnome is new to the business or you received him from somebody else.

Besides that I think this is awesome. I look forward to receiving Bridwell and showing him around town sometime.

my suggestion last yr when this was brought up was that there possibly be a new cateogry added in the gallery called Bridwell's Travels or something, and when we get our pics ready, we can post them under that category - that way we can sort them to just see only those photos? Just a thought!

Sounds great to me. I was thinking it would be great if we had a place for all the photos.. I did save a full size photo. Do you want that or is the 800x600 good enough?

I was going to get some shots down at the Lakes of the Ozarks, but really didnt have the time and I wanted to get this thing kicked off as soon as possible. I also thought it would be good to get a shot of him at home before his travels. Im sure he is going to get plenty of great pictures in his travels. I have him boxed up and ready to go to the post office in the morning. He will be on his way to Boston. I really hope he stays away from the beans though

A special gallery might be nice. Of course, web developer that I am, I thought of letting you specify the coordinates that the photo was taken at when you upload the photo and displaying it all on a Google Maps-based page.

(And yes, I know how to do all of that in case anyone is interested!)
