Desktop speed Wired to router d/l = 2681kbps u/l = 341kbps
laptop speeds wireless d/l = 1324kbps u/l = 349kbps
laptop no security wireless d/l = 1331kbps u/l = 348kbps
laptop wired to router d/l = 1470kbps u/l = 334kbps
I am boggled as to why its still slow even wired, no firewall is enabled on xp.. i hav not tweaked eather the desktop or laptop.. Please Help!!! Thanks  |

join:2004-04-23 Largo, FL clubs: | reply to masterpjz9 Im not testing the lan side, thats fine, its the internet speed, I have RoadRunner with a 3mps dl speed. When I test the connection on my desktop which is wired to the router I get from 2.5 to 2.8 mps, but the wireless I get 1.2 to 1.5. |

| Hi all, This is my first post. I have a brand new Linksys WRT54G router and a new Dell Inspiron 5150 with a TM1300 wireless b/g card. When I goto speed tests, i get almost 3 mbs for my wired and when I try the wireless I get like 1.2 to 1.5 mps? I have Excellent signal strenth. Is this normal for wireless?? Thankyou for any help..
