There have been a lot of "what type of modem is best" threads, and I was hoping that a poll would help shed light on which one(s) are most used. Perhaps some comments on how much you like your modem would also be useful.

| Aunt in Hightstown, New Jersey uses the SB4200 Cable Modem - Overall the connection and speed has been fairly fine, no complaints.

Although this may be a good thread to see what cable modem uses, it doesn't show what is the "best" cable modem used with Comcast - Everyone has different opinions.

I'm using a Moto SB5120 that i rent from comcast.
I have only had it for three weeks,but so far it has been very solid.:) |

Been using the Linksys BEFCMU10 for nearly a year (I own it) and it's been rock solid. No issues, no complaints. The Linksys replaced an RCA DCM235 that worked very well until the power cord started getting flakey. |

RCA DCM225 here since @Home !! Never had any issues with modem - not even with power cord which locks securely in place.

It has worked fine since I signed up with @home in August 2001, fine with ATTBI, fine with Comcast. |

Motorola SB4200 at home,
SB5100 at relatives
I own the 4200, came from a RCA DCM215 rented from Comcast@Home days in 1999. no problems with it, just didnt want to pay the $3-$5 charge.

I have a Toshiba PCX1100 but its the older version without the USB port. I voted for the PCX1100U since it was the closest option. |
