Re: Request: Buffalo Tech Forum

I've never heard of Buffalo what? From reading this thread, I gather they are a vendor who makes routers? Where do you buy them? I've never seen one in a store in Hawaii or even heard the name before and I researched before I bought my Linksy and never ran across the name Buffalo on Google.

So, I find it a bit hard to believe that many people have such a router and come to to dslr and thus need a forum to discuss it.

For discussion of non-ISP crippled SpeedStream products, use the Efficient forum ( »Efficient ).

For the crippled ones you need to be in the ISP specific forum. And, yes, the 5100b is a crippled one.

Count me in, I vote for a Buffalo Tech forum. Just ordered a Wireless G Router and Repeater/Bridge thanks to suggestions in other forums. It would be nice to have a home where the Buffalo roam (you know the rest...).

Why do you find it so hard to believe? Buffalo Tech makes one of the best Consumer grade wireless routers available today. »www.buffalotech.com/wireless/index.php
Just because you have never heard of it doesn't mean we all that have one don't need our own forum.

Edit:Not affiliated with Buffalo in any way. Just a happy owner of one.

How many people can have something from some vendor that I have never heard of? The forums here are for EVERYONE ALL OVER THE WORLD not just a few from one place who buy something from some regional/small vendor. I would think a Dell forum here would be a lot more useful as a lot of people all over the world have Dells. Someone said Compusa sells these, well we don't have a Compusa here on this island. All we have is Office Max, Walmart, a local small home owned computer store. But everyone has Dells...so lets have a Dell forum as that would help a lot more people everywhere.

I just think people wanting Belkin forums, etc. are being very selfish as those are not big ticket items. An APC forum would be a lot more appropriate than a Belkin as for the number of people who would be affected. And Buffalo...well, at least I have heard of Belkin but they are cheap, low end junk sold at Office Max and nothing sold there is much good...but I have haven't ever even heard of Buffalo so it has to be regional or only sold in places of huge population where there is a Compusa...again not something of wide interest and these forums are supposed to be of wide interest not just of interest to those who live in huge cities.

Buffalo Tech products are widely available on the web from lots of e-tailers. There is a link on Buffalo's site that points to some (»www.buffalotech.com/wireless/_SA···OMM.html). Shipping to the islands might be expensive, but the products are solid and well worth a good look if the feature set matches what you need. Aloha

*sign* they make wireless products so why not. Also they are the only vender that I know of that makes a router that has built in bridging. It messed up my wifi network and it stinks, but its still a nice feature.
