Re: Question about connecting to a router

Yup that didn't work if you have any more ideas please let me know.

I miss my routers web-based controls.

You set all PCs connected to the router to Obtain an IP automatically, reboot them while connected to the router and away you go.

Ok here is the story. I used to just "dial-up" normally through XP until someone told me I should be doing it through my router, so I set the router to connect to sympatico, and it worked!

At least for me. But the other computers on the network could not use the net, so I reverted back to "dialing up" through XP but now I cannot get to the routers web-based options.

So I have two questions:

1. how do I connect to my router's (DI-704P) Web-based options again?

2. How do I make the routers PPPoE work for everyone?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

No, you would "dial-up" through the router and just launch your browser on your PC to get online, no "dial-up" needed when using a router.

It is set to PPPoE but I need to "dial-up" to use the net.

Is there another way to do it?

If you are using a router you should not be using the PPPoE in WIndows XP, you should have your router set to PPPoE and using it.
