Thanks for the number.... I called it and they immediately offered the service to me and instructed me where to go in Brampton to pick up the new modem for $79.95... heading out this afternoon. I called the Rogers video out at Kennedy and Vodden (where I'll do the exchange), and they also said "so you're moving up to the 5m service eh? Cool!"
Can't wait! Thanks again! |

You guys are so lucky, all the Rogers video stores I called before told me that they don't carry modems, never have, never will, and that the only way I can get one is through Rogers tech support. Then Rogers tech support tells me the Rogers video stores have modems, you just gotta ask, so I call the video store again and they still don't...arghhhh, I hate Rogers and they're 0 internal communication policy! |

Anyone like me?
I am on a discount program as Bank of Montreal employee.. only paying $36/month.
I want 5Mb... but I was told if I change to 5Mb.. I don't get that discount and i have to pay $45 again.
Without the discount.. i don't think I will join 5Mb.. cos it's $80 modem PLUS $120 more every years.. that's A LOT.
anyone on the same boat like me? do you able to talk to anyone and get to keep the discount price with 5Mb?
thanks |

Discount programs other than VIP were not negotiated for the eXtreme service. I would imagine that when the service is formally in place, the banks etc. offering this benefit will renegotiate for a discount on this service too. |

I'm BMO too. For me personally the extra speed up and down is worth it. Time is money and that extra speed will save me a lot of time (or make me spend more time on the net ) |

Hi all
Do all stores in Ottawa have the modems? I'm not entirely sure what store he told me to go to before I hung up the phone :\ |

No ... they don't. Woodroffe at Baseline (Shoppers city west, now College Square) in the west end. Call your nearest one to be sure, before going! |

After getting in contact with no less than 10 different people at rogers (and even the VP's assitant), I finally convinced them to send me a new modem to replace the ratty one they gave me ($80 for a used modem that's all banged up? No thx).
Now I've got the Motorola modem and am 100% pleased with 5 Mbit now (the Webstar was giving 5 Mbit but the "used" fact didn't impress me). |

This number was very helpful.. Thank you for posting it... Got connected right away with people that know why I call them... Very nice... No "on hold" time either.. Atleast not until they try to set you up...
Ps - With the eXtreme package.. How can I save some money off my internet and cable bill? I heard there was a program that let you do this... |

That's Rogers VIP package. Check it out on their website. If you subscribe to any of the VIP cable packages you get a 10% discount off of the monthly rate for your internet and your wireless phone if you have Rogers Wireless. -Chris |

Shoot, I didn't know you could save money as a VIP member, they never asked for it when I was there. I guess it will just come off of my bill like it did before. |

The Motorola seems to be giving the best speeds around here. If i decide to get the 5mbps, i'll make sure i get the Motorola Surfboard. |

Thanks for the phone number Dan Corp - I had an appointment booked within 3 minutes of placing my call. How often does that happen when contacting Rogers? Unfortunately I was not offered the opportunity to pick up the modem myself - I have to make a technician appontment. Tomorrow is the day! |

Greetings,
Call me jealous if you want but I would have said the same if another sympatico user posted their speedtests multiple times on the same page of a thread.
Unless you're doing diagnosis, then I wont complain |
